*The next World Diabetes Congress will take place in Dubai on 4-8 December 2011.
The prize does not include travel to and from Dubai to attend the Congress or accommodation during the Congress.

We are calling on members of the global diabetes community and other individuals concerned with diabetes to tell us how they are "Acting on Diabetes. Now." the slogan for the World Diabetes Day 2011 campaign.
HOW DO I MAKE A VIDEO?
To shoot your 2 to 10 second video, you can use:
- A digital camera
- A mobile phone
- A webcam
- Any other support
WHAT SHOULD I SAY ON THE VIDEO?
Here are some examples:
- I'm acting on diabetes now by measuring my blood glucose to control the condition.
- I'm acting on diabetes now by exercising for at least 30 mins every day.
- I'm acting on diabetes now by lobbying my local member of parliament to ensure essential diabetes care for all.
- I'm acting on diabetes now by joining a local diabetes association.
- I'm acting on diabetes now by walking to work every day.
- I'm acting on diabetes now by eating a healthy and balanced diet.
Or, any other inspiring message you can think of.
WHAT SHOULD I DO ON THE VIDEO?
Remember to include the blue circle, the global symbol of diabetes. Be creative with the symbol and make it from any material available. You could for example draw it on a piece of paper or on your hand, face, arm or leg, or project it on a screen.
WHAT LANGUAGE SHOULD I USE?
All languages are welcome. You can shoot the video in the language of your choice and then provide the translation if it's not submitted in English, French or Spanish. View some sample videos to get an idea of what you could do.
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO
Once you've produced your video, share it with us by following these 4 simple steps:
- Go to http://participativevideo.worlddiabetesday.org/submit-video/ and upload your video file.
- Insert your name and the country where you're from or where you live.
- If your video contains language other than English, French or Spanish, please provide an English translation in the appropriate box.
- Click on 'Submit'
Once submitted, your video will be processed by the World Diabetes Day team, approved and then published.
All videos containing offensive or abusive language and images will not be published.
Once your video is visible on our website you can share it with your friends or contacts on Facebook or Twitter and invite them to vote for you to win a free registration to the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai.
WDD VIDEO CONTEST RULES & PROCEDURES
- The WDD video contest is open to persons aged 18 and over.
- The contest begins on Monday 16 May 2011, at 17:00 a.m. Central Eastern Time (“CET”) and ends on Wednesday 14 September 2011, at 11:59PM CET.
- After the contest closes the winning video will be selected based on the number of likes received and the winner will be notified by email by 21 September 2011.
- The winner will receive a free registration to the World Diabetes Congress in Dubai, 4 to 8 December 2011. The prize does not include travel to and from Dubai to attend the Congress nor accommodation and meals during the Congress.
- The winning video will be posted on www.worlddiabetesday.org and in the WDD YouTube channel.
- The prize is not redeemable for cash but is transferable to another contest participant only.
- Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission by the winner to make use of his/her name, photograph and/or likeness for IDF advertising, publicity and promotional purposes without compensation
